Karen began her GE career at GE Plastics where she worked for 18 years in a variety of
positions including manager of press relations and marketing communications and five
years in general and Six Sigma education for the GE Plastics sales force. In 1999 she joined
the customer education team at Crotonville where she helped transfer GE best practices
such as the Change Acceleration Process and Work-Out™ to strategic customers. Moving into a management role at GE Financial Assurance (now Genworth), she led public relations, marketing operations and cultural integration efforts and then joined GEHC Performance Solutions group in 2003. She moved to executive education at GE’s leadership center, Crotonville, Ossining, New York in 2005 program managing the Business Management Course and Executive Development Course, the two highest-level programs. She now leads the Leadership, Innovation and Growth executive team development program.

Karen is known for her expertise in GE’s Change Acceleration Process (CAP), Work-Out™,
customer consulting and facilitation skills where she has over 16 years of experience. She
was one of the lead change agents at GE Plastics in 1992 as CAP was initiated across the
GE businesses. She also co-designed CAP for Six Sigma and led the rollout of that education
course across GE. She has facilitated a variety of strategic meetings, leadership and
quality courses, as well as provided individual, team and executive coaching. She is a certified
green belt and a certified professional coach.

In addition, Karen has extensive background in marketing GE Plastics resins, sheet and
Film. She led the introduction of GE’s Thermoclear® sheet into the greenhouse market
and then helped launch the first plastic recessed lighting can. She also led a team in the
development of a more colorable Cycolac® product for the appliances and housewares
markets.

Karen has an undergraduate degree from Middlebury College, Vermont, a master’s
degree in zoology from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and a master’s in
science journalism from Boston University, Boston. She participates annually in leadership
education as she continues to hone her skills and recently garnered a certificate in Strategic HR Practices from Cornell U. Karen has served on numerous United Way and GE Elfun drives (GE’s volunteer organization).
