He works with many public relations executives, in particular, on the development of management, communications and leadership skills. For much of his career, he has specialized in publicizing arts organizations and media companies, most recently serving as the Director of Communications for The Broadway League, the national trade association for the commercial theatre industry. As Director of Corporate Training and Development for Scholastic, the international children’s media company, he led numerous organizational development/change initiatives. At Scholastic, he was also Director of Publicity, where he served on the marketing team for the Harry Potter book series. At Serino Coyne, and Rogers and Cowan public relations, Alan supervised public relations and cultural sponsorship activities, and worked with many arts organizations nationwide, including museums, performing arts institutions, regional theaters, and dance companies. At Robinson Lerer Montgomery, as Vice President, he was responsible for consumer publicity campaigns for United Airlines, and AOL, including the launch of AOL's Find A Job service. Alan Cohen holds a B.A. in English and Theatre from Connecticut College, and an MBA from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Business, where his focus was leadership development. He received his professional coach training from iPEC, the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching. He is an accredited Associate Certified Coach, through the International Coach Federation and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and its Counselors Academy. He regularly presents at events sponsored by the PRSA, The Ladders, the premier job site, and Fordham’s Graduate School of Business. He is also an Associate Trainer of coaches for iPEC. As an executive coach in New York City, Alan Cohen offers his services throughout the entire United States through a unique phone coaching system. |
