A. Michael Bloom, Principal, at Bloom Coaching and Performance LLC, promotes a mission to help caregivers and the organizations that support them to transform from withering in exhaustion and low engagement with their own lives and work to blooming with energy and purpose so that they can excel with meeting the needs of their loved ones and clients for the long term. With more than two decades of motivational leadership, knowledge, and provision of exceptional supports for individuals, families, and organizations of varying abilities and needs, Michael can effectively partner with clients to achieve satisfying personal discovery, growth, and results. Michael is an informed caregiver for aging family members (supporting his elder mother to "age in place" and his father to pass on with dignity through in-home hospice) and often shares his expertise with others to successfully navigate the complex web of medical, public, and private service systems. Michael has held a number of senior leadership positions at mid-size to large non-profit organizations throughout Massachusetts. He is known as a well-informed advocate for providing exceptional services to people with disabilities, their family members, and direct support professionals. Michael has championed "Going Green" initiatives, environmental health awareness, aging and disability interagency collaboration, and award-winning self-directed work teams to promote the health, safety, and sustainability of non-profit agencies. Michael still provides consultation to organizations regarding quality enhancement, program and team development and is a motivational speaker and workshop leader. Michael currently serves as President of Northeast Region X of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD), which serves Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Quebec and Maritime Provinces. He is Past President and Past Treasurer of the Massachusetts Chapter of the AAIDD. Michael holds the following degrees: BS in Psychology from the College of William and Mary MS in Psychology from Villanova University MA in Social Policy from the Heller School at Brandeis University He is a qualified administrator of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® instrument, the FIRO-B® Interpersonal Orientation assessment, and the Murphy-Meisgeier Type Indicator for Children® (MMTIC®). Michael has completed certification as a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® Master Practitioner. Michael is a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) having completed his training in the premier accredited Coaching Certification Program through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC). He is also certified as an ELI-MP (Energy Leadership Index-Master Practitioner). Michael is an active and supportive member of his community having served as a Trustee in his condominium assocations. Michael also serves on the Board of Directors and is the chairperson for adult education at Temple Beth Abraham in Canton, Massachusetts. |
