Life coach Deb Harriot. After graduating high school, Deb attended her local community college. She earned her AA degree and was admitted to two honor societies. Later she served as a youth leader for several years, working with youngsters aged 10-18. A number of these children were troubled teenagers from broken and dysfunctional homes. Unknown to her at the time, this experience would turn out to be tremendously helpful in her work as a Life Coach. Next, Deb enlisted in the U.S.Navy as an electronics technician. After a stint in the active duty Navy, she joined the Naval Reserve, serving aboard several ships and a land-based repair facility. Desiring to work more with people, Deb attended the Navy's Career Information School and served two more hitches as a Career Counselor. It was while working in this capacity that Deb earned two Navy Achievement medals and was named first runner-up in the nation for Sailor of the Year. While in the Reserves, Deb earned her BA degree and Teaching Credential at California Polytechnic University. She began working full-time in an inner city public school with numbers of troubled youngsters. With her husband's help, she was also raising two children. She also resumed her volunteer youth work. Deb eventually left teaching to pursue a career as a Life Coach. She trained with iPEC, the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching. iPEC is accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the foremost organization for coaching. Deb specializes in coaching teachers, students, and the military and their families. |
